It is with great sadness that we announce the departure from this life of Fr David, who went to The Lord at around 3pm on Friday 23rd November. Fr David’s body will be received into the Shrine Church at 4pm on Tuesday 18th December, and later there will be a celebration of an EF (Latin) Requiem Mass here at 7-30pm.

On the following day, Wednesday 19th December, the Funeral Mass itself will be celebrated in Arundel Cathedral at 11am by Bishop Richard, with priests of the diocese.  This will be followed by a Funeral Reception in the Cathedral Centre.

Susan and the family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the many kind messages of condolence. Your love and support is a real strength to them.

Please continue to keep Fr David, Susan and the family in your prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine on him

May he rest in peace

Amen

There will now be a Missa Cantata on Sunday 2 December at 3pm: Celebrant Fr Bruno Witchalls with music from the Seaford Schola.

Sadly Fr David is still in hospital undergoing further tests in order to stabilise his condition. Dn Seamus has undergone a major operation, which has been successful, Deo Gratias. He is now recovering at home, but not expected to return to West Grinstead until the New Year. Both Fr David and Dn Seamus are most grateful for your prayers: please continue to keep both of them in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Please see our plea – on the Newssheet – for additional cleaners to join the Church Rooms cleaning rota.

‘STOP PRESS’: There WILL now be a Vigil Mass at West Grinstead this Saturday 17th Nov at the usual time of 6pm. The celebrant will be Bishop Richard, and the Mass will include a profession of solemn vows by parishioner Michelle Crabb.

Sadly Fr David has had to return to hospital for further tests and investigations in order to stabilise his condition. Also Dn Seamus is going to hospital for back surgery this Monday (12th November). The prognosis is most favourable, but he will be out of action for some weeks. Please keep both Fr David and Dn Seamus in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
